P6- Explain how the government supports the development of e-business
The government is helping the development of e-business by supporting businesses making the transition online this is so that small to medium size businesses can have the same opportunities of the big retailers. The government is putting a programme (Grow Online, Expand Worldwide) together to help over 7000 businesses attract new customers from outside the UK. The government is also offering cyber security advice to businesses which will help to identify and manage the risks that they will face operating online, they are also working alongside other countries in trying to manage the risks that businesses face and how they can offer better support and protection. The government is supporting the growth and development of small businesses online as is a significant part of the government plan to rebalance the economy and create more jobs.
The government also wants develop the nations technological skills and offer greater work flexibility, over the next 9 years they will be investing £3bn into developing peoples skills and creating a safer working environment online. They are trying to develop skills by targeting schools in particular where they hope to make I.T a more important and prominent subject with activities like;coding which they feel will be a useful skill in the future.
