When operating online it is essential that businesses have the the correct security measures in place to protect themselves and their customers information from hackers, viruses and spyware. Some of the issues that businesses have to deal with include Viruses, Trojans, Worms, Loss of data, Identity Theft and Internal security threats. Retailers who operate online will have to consider the threats to their customers if they have an account with them, by having an up to date antivirus software in place is essential to keeping the business and customers protected. A good antivirus system will have scheduled up dates that scan the businesses entire website as well as scanning emails that are being sent to or from the business to make sure that no dangerous links or sensitive information is included. A way of ensuring that businesses don't experience personal data loss is by making sure that customers and employees regularly change their passwords, if a password is long with a mixture of different numbers and characters then it will be harder to hackers or different types of spyware to gain access to peoples accounts.
